1Getting started

  • Install VAKSYN on your Android phone and open it.
  • Enter your mobile number. We send a 6-digit code by SMS — type it to sign in. There is no password to remember.
  • Add your name and a photo. That is all; your contacts who use VAKSYN appear automatically.
  • You stay signed in on your phone until you choose "Log out".

2Chatting

  • Tap a contact and type. Tap the paperclip for photos, videos, documents and voice notes.
  • Reply: swipe or long-press a message and choose Reply. Edit: long-press your own message and choose Edit (free: 15 minutes; Prime: 60 minutes). An edited message shows "edited".
  • Delete for everyone, Forward, Star (find them later in Settings → Starred messages) and View once are in the same long-press menu.
  • Every one-to-one chat and group message is end-to-end encrypted — only you and the people in the chat can read it, not even VAKSYN.

3Groups

  • Create a group from the New chat button: choose people, give it a name.
  • Open the group name at the top to see members. Admins can add people, remove a member, and make others admins.
  • Anyone can leave a group with "Leave group". A group can have its own auto-delete timer.

4Voice and video calls

  • Open a chat and tap the phone or camera icon at the top.
  • Calls are protected in transit. Use a good Wi-Fi or mobile connection for clear sound and picture.

5Privacy and safety

  • Settings → Privacy lets you choose who sees your last seen, photo, about, and read receipts.
  • Settings → Two-step verification adds a PIN that is asked when you register again.
  • Safety number: open a chat → ⋮ → "Verify security code". Compare the digits (or scan the code) with your friend in person or on a call. If they match, your chat cannot be tapped. If a friend changes phone, VAKSYN warns you that their code changed.
  • Block a contact in Settings → Blocked contacts, or report abuse from the chat.

6Photos, videos and storage

  • Settings → Storage & data lets you decide what downloads automatically (on Wi-Fi, on mobile data, or never) — per type: photos, videos, files. Nothing is saved to your gallery unless you allow it.
  • Auto-delete: choose 24 hours or 1 month for all chats, for one group, or for one person. Old messages and files are then removed from your phone.
  • Message timer (disappearing messages) can be set for a chat from the chat menu.

7Use VAKSYN on a computer

  • On the computer open www.vaksyn.com/app. A QR code and an 8-character link code appear.
  • On your phone: Settings → Link a device → scan the QR code. If the camera cannot scan, choose "Enter a code instead" and type the 8 characters.
  • You can link up to 6 browsers at once with Prime, fewer without. Each browser gets its own encryption keys, so your chats stay end-to-end encrypted there too.
  • To remove a browser: Settings → Active sessions → log out that device.

8Chat backup and restore

  • Settings → Chat backup → Back up now. Choose a backup password — VAKSYN cannot recover it, so write it down.
  • The backup is encrypted on your phone before it leaves it. VAKSYN only stores unreadable data.
  • On a new phone (or after reinstalling), sign in with your number, then choose Restore and enter the same password. Your old chats come back.

9Auto-reply

  • Settings → Auto-reply. Switch it on and write your away message.
  • The message is sent once a day to each person who writes to you in a one-to-one chat — never in groups. It is sent by your phone, so VAKSYN must be running and online.
  • With Prime you can choose days and hours (for example every night 10 pm → 7 am) and who receives it: everyone, only your contacts, or only people who are not your contacts.

10Scheduled messages, broadcast lists and themes

  • Scheduled messages: open a chat → ⋮ → Scheduled messages → Schedule. Write the text and pick the time. Your phone sends it then, so VAKSYN must be installed and online; if the phone was off, it goes as soon as you open VAKSYN.
  • Broadcast lists: Settings → Broadcast lists → New list. Pick people and save. Tap the list, write once — each person gets it privately in your chat with them and never sees who else got it.
  • Themes: Settings → Themes. Choose the colours of the top bars and your sent messages. The chat background is in the chat menu ⋮ → Wallpaper.
  • Pin chats to the top: long-press a chat → Pin chat (3 chats; Prime: 10).
  • Free amounts: 3 waiting scheduled messages, 2 broadcast lists of up to 10 people, 2 themes. Prime raises all of these.

11Status, calls list, You tab and wallpapers

  • Status: open the Status tab. Tap My status to post coloured text or a photo. Your contacts see it for 24 hours and you see who viewed it. Status is not end-to-end encrypted like chats.
  • Calls tab: Recent shows received, dialed and missed calls with clear icons. Favorites, Emergency (112, 100, 108, 101, 1091 and your own emergency contacts) and a search box are there too. The dial pad button calls any number; if the person is not on VAKSYN you can invite them by SMS.
  • A call now rings on the phone's own incoming-call screen even when VAKSYN is closed. Allow notifications and 'show over lock screen' when the phone asks.
  • In a call you can turn the speaker on or off and switch between the front and back camera.
  • You tab (your photo at the bottom right): edit your name, photo and about. The three dots at the top of every tab open Settings.
  • Wallpapers: in a chat tap the three dots, then Wallpaper. Choose flowers and feel-good designs, or the signature designs of VAKSYN Prime.

12VAKSYN Prime

  • A small extra for a small price: ₹49 per month or ₹399 per year (Settings → VAKSYN Prime).
  • Prime gives you: scheduled auto-reply, a bigger backup, bigger files, more linked browsers, and a longer time to edit messages.
  • Your privacy is never for sale. End-to-end encryption, calls, groups, backups and all safety features stay free for everyone.
  • Online payment opens soon. Until then, nothing is charged.
  • Launch offer: for now every VAKSYN user gets all Prime extras free of cost.

13Delete your account

  • Settings → Delete account. We send a code by SMS to confirm. Your profile, keys, and the messages you sent are erased. This cannot be undone.

14Calls in detail

  • When you call, the screen says "Calling..." until the other phone is really ringing, then "Ringing...". If their phone is off or has no internet you keep seeing "Calling...".
  • You can use other apps or lock the phone while a call is on: the call carries on. A green bar at the top of VAKSYN (or the call notification) takes you back; there is a Hang up button on the notification.
  • Inside VAKSYN, press the small "shrink" button on the call screen to go back to your chats while the call continues.
  • A video call becomes a small window when you leave VAKSYN, so the video does not stop.
  • In a video call tap the screen-share button to show your screen; tap again to stop. The other person sees it in full.
  • Group calls: Calls tab → the group icon at the top → pick a group or people. Up to 50 people can be in one group call. During a call tap "Add person" to bring in someone new; people already in the call are not rung again. In a two-person call, "Add person" turns it into a group call.
  • Calls tab: tap a call to see all calls with that person — time, how long, and how much data was used — and call again. Press and hold a call to select several, then delete them (only from your list). Tap the heart to add someone to Favorites; tap it again to remove.
  • Group calls do not appear as chats; they show in the Calls tab. To remove a chat, press and hold it in the chat list → Delete chat.

15Chats in detail

  • Photos and videos: after you choose them, you see them first and can write a caption. You can choose many photos at once and give each its own caption, then send.
  • Videos in a chat play inside VAKSYN. Photos: double-tap to zoom where you tap, pinch to zoom, drag to look around.
  • Every message shows its time; the first message of each day shows the date.
  • Typing: Enter makes a new line, so long messages are easy to write.
  • Contacts: the Contacts screen shows everyone in your phone book — those on VAKSYN first, then the others with an Invite button.
  • Wallpapers: 4 free designs; Prime has many more, and lets you use your own photo, which becomes a soft watermark behind the chat.

16Help and contact

  • Not receiving the SMS code? Check your number and signal, wait a minute, then try again.
  • Chat says it cannot be decrypted after linking a browser? Log the browser out and link it again.
